Discover the Secret: Is Your Body Harbor Glyphosate? How to Test and Detox Now!

Genetically modified (GMO) foods have been causing concern for a while now, and one of the main reasons is glyphosate. This chemical was introduced by Monsanto Company in the 1970s as a weed killer with the purpose of increasing crop yields.

The controversy around its safety has mounted since then, due to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Monsanto having only conducted short-term studies on its safety. The fact that Monsanto also generates around a third of its annual $15 billion revenue from GMO foods that are sprayed with glyphosate raises further questions.

The EPA claims Roundup (glyphosate) is “not likely” to cause cancer, while the International Agency for Research on Cancer believes it is “probably carcinogenic to humans.” It’s also identified as a hormone disrupter and linked to other diseases.

Testing for glyphosate food residues

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has begun measuring glyphosate in certain foods that are routinely sprayed with the chemical, including soybeans, corn, milk, and eggs. Relevantly, the FDA has recently confirmed the presence of glyphosate residues in baby foods.

Several other companies are now testing foods for glyphosate residues and finding it in breast milk, cereal, honey, infant formula, soy sauce, and wheat flour.

Testing your glyphosate levels

To test your own glyphosate levels, Glyphosate and its companion chemicals can be measured in your urine by a laboratory through a doctor who can order it for you. The Detox Project will also soon make this testing available without a doctor’s order.

Detoxifying from glyphosate

As the liver is the main detoxification organ, when considering ways to detoxify your body from glyphosate, start by cleansing your gastrointestinal system. To do this, achieve liquid stools for 2 days using an over-the-counter product like Miralax. Sweating in a sauna, particularly a far infra-red sauna, is another effective way to enhance the elimination of glyphosate.

Certain herbs and supplements can also enhance liver detoxification:

  1. Vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin can improve phase II detoxification in your liver.
  2. Green algae (Chlorella) has been proven to improve liver function in patients with fatty liver disease and chronic hepatitis C virus infection.
  3. Milk Thistle provides liver protection against various dangerous chemicals and aids in liver detoxification.
  4. Dandelion Leaf increases urine elimination of water-soluble chemical waste and has liver protective effects.
  5. Ginkgo Leaf (Ginkgo biloba) has been studied in mice for glyphosate detoxification.
  6. Indian Gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica) can significantly reduce the severity of liver damage and improve liver function.
  7. Pomegranate (Punica granatum) bark has demonstrated detoxification effects in several scientific studies.
  8. Cilantro possesses liver protective activity from toxic chemicals in animal studies and is believed to work similarly in humans.
  9. Wolfberry (Lycium barbarum) protects the liver from injuries due to toxic chemicals and other causes.
  10. Alginates (seaweed) bind up and help carry away toxins in your intestinal tract, reduce inflammation of the gut lining, and enhance liver detoxification. They also help build a healthy gut microbiome and support weight loss.

After detoxifying, remember to retest for glyphosate after six weeks to measure the effect of your chosen method.
