Joint pain is a debilitating experience that can dramatically impact your quality of life. Several conditions can cause joint pain, such as arthritis, labrum tears, tight tendons, sprains, strains, dehydration, and injury. For relief, many people opt for NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories), analgesic drugs, MSM, glucosamine, and chondroitin. Others prefer topical ointments like Sombra, Icy Hot, Ben Gay, and Biofreeze. However, there’s another product on the market worth considering—Celadrin®.
What Is Celadrin?
Celadrin is a fatty acid, an ethylated esterified fatty acid derived from bovine tallow oil. It has been shown through clinical studies to be an effective anti-inflammatory compound that promotes healthy joint function. While similar to fish oil, Celadrin is specifically engineered to help joints through its action as a cellular lubricant. It increases joint flexibility and range of motion by lubricating the joint at a cellular level.
How It Works
Celadrin differs from NSAIDs, which improve range of motion in the joints as a side effect of pain relief and body-wide reduction of inflammation. Instead, Celadrin focuses on decreasing inflammation specifically within joints and lubricates their movement. It achieves this by increasing the fluids that cushion the space between the joint bones.
By reducing inflammation and lubricating joints, Celadrin creates an internal environment that enables the body to repair joints and adjacent tissues more effectively. It’s reported to affect change at the cellular level, within the cell membranes themselves, and assists in reducing and preventing the breakdown of joint cartilage.
The Studies
Celadrin has been scientifically studied for both oral and topical efficacy, with findings published in reputable journals such as the Journal of Rheumatology and the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research. One particular double-blind, multi-center, placebo-controlled study evaluated 64 participants (ages 37 to 77) who took Celadrin capsules daily for 68 days. At both the 30-day and 68-day marks, the Celadrin group reported increased flexibility and fewer aches, and they were able to walk farther compared to the placebo group.
Another study conducted at the University of Connecticut involved the topical application of Celadrin for 42 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee. Participants were evaluated before applying Celadrin cream, 30 minutes after application, and again after twice-daily topical application for 30 days. Researchers measured physical function, postural movement, range of motion, and pain levels, seeking to evaluate real-world effects such as getting up from a chair, climbing stairs time, and improvements in knee mobility and endurance. When compared to the placebo cream group, all the participants applying Celadrin experienced reduced pain and stiffness, improved mobility, and enhanced balance and strength. Moreover, a significant improvement was observed in all aspects tested after only 30 minutes of applying the cream, and cumulative beneficial effects occurred after 30 days.
More Than A Joint Pain Reliever
Arthritis, heart attacks, allergies, cancer, bowel diseases, and Alzheimer’s all share a common denominator: inflammation. This symptom manifests as pain, heat, redness, and swelling. While inflammation plays a crucial role in fighting infection and repairing injuries, unchecked inflammation can cause significant harm to the body. As a natural anti-inflammatory fatty acid compound, Celadrin can help the body control inflammatory conditions and alleviate damaging symptoms. Studies have also found Celadrin to be effective in reducing the effects of psoriasis.
Things To Consider
If you’re experiencing joint pain or inflammation unrelated to injury, consult your primary healthcare provider for advice. It’s essential to determine whether the pain or inflammation is the result of a severe medical issue that requires appropriate treatment. However, if your discomfort stems from inflammation, Celadrin can help alleviate your problem while lubricating your joints and reducing pain, assisting the body in healing more effectively.
